This is Guildwars not Warhammer

But anyways, I think a might go Luxon because pirates are cool and I want millions of dollars in jade jewelry. FTW!

The entire sea is jade. How much can it be worth?

LOL, I was waiting for someone to figure that out.

It reminds me of Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy, where the hairdressers decide to make tree leaves the official currency, in pre-historic Earth. (long story)

Needless to say, inflation ran rather high...

There's a lot of conflicting information about it. We'll have to wait for the FPE or Gaile to make a definitive statement about the whole Faction-choosing situation.

If I remember correctly, the result was 1 deciduous forest buying 1 ship's peanut. Of course, they then decided to burn down all the forests, thus increasing the value by quite a lot. But nevermind . . .*

As for the actual issue discussed here, all I can say is TURTLES!? WHERE!?!?!?!!!!!! *huggles his IRL turtle*

*Note: I believe that one of the articles actually said straight out that jade is the primary ornamentation, because it comes so cheap.

In world filled with oceans of jade, green rock comes cheap.

Luxon Luxon Luxon. Ahem: Anyone here remember the White Mantle? Ye know, those guys in the shiny underwear that decided to slaughter innocent people because their 'gods' told them to? The dudes who eventually turned on you and did their level best to kill you, and succeeded more than once, because those same gods, again, told them to?

Yeah. And now you want to go and work for ANOTHER batch of religious lunatics?

Religion never ceases to scare me. Teenage Tattoed Turtle Pirates FTW.

Im gonna choose the underdogs. Hopefuly A-net make them over powered because of a high ratio like the 4-1 horde/alliance ratio on wow. Thats what im hopeing to do. IS it possible to have one character on kurzickz and one on luxons.

I'd surely want Anet to pick off some ideas from Warhammer.

What, "Knights" welding Hammers is not enough?

I, for one, do not want a Warhammer clone. If I did, I'd get the new Warhammer MMORPG.

lol, ill love being the udnerdog. Its always so invigorating seeing only about 5-6 dozen of your men and 15+ dozens of the enemies going at it. Just like all those great movies where the heroes have to fight an overwhelming number and taking them nonethe less. Kurzicks are pretty sweet, im thinking that im gonna be a A/R, like an actual assassin in the petrified forest. Still im gonna have to kick everyones butt in myg uild to make them go kurzick, the converting has already begun mwuahahahahahaa

Hell yes!!

I'm gonna go Inqusitorial on your turtles!

Look I may be trying to be honest and good person (ateist too, for the record) in real life, but in GW I'm gonna kick some heathen arse no matter is it correct or not. It's roleplaying...

PS. Religion scares me too. That's why I play these scary dogmatized zealots...would put Mantles to shame...

I'm not sure I like either:

zealots or fascisits

Can I bring them both down?

Which is which?

Honestly, I'd like to be the rich Amber merchant that sells much needed supplies to both sides...

I'm choosing Kurzik.

Besides, everyone knows Ninjas > Pirates.

"Your guild must choose a faction—Luxon or Kurzick." How would the guild decide? I'm sure everyone is going to want to do something different... And can we change sides later?

/Yez.

You can change sides. back/forth w/e. (you just need to do quests for that side 1st to be in their "favor")

The weird part would be the guild thing...they say you can switch, will that have any effect on the guild itself...is it truly account, guild, or charac based...

I think both factions are interesting. I'm leaning torwards Luxon but things may change once I check out both factions over the next few days.

Pirates get all the booty.

My thought is that the Guild leader will choose a side, and all Guild battles will favor that faction (no matter the particular leanings of individual guildies).

But when not fighting with your guild, then you earn faction for whatever faction you're a part of.

Other ideas: Random arenas select people based on individual faction OR there is a special entry for each faction into a Random arena. Either way, if the Factions are not balanced, this could mean people will be waiting for an opponent.

Bottom line, not enough info on this yet... and even if there was concrete info, since this is an online game, content can change without notice. ie, the way faction works on release, might not be the way it works 6 months from now!
